FUNDRAISING PROGRESS REPORT

Hello reader

Donations off 44% with less than 48 hours left!
Thank you faithful supporters who have checked in. And thank you members who have given us a donation for the first time. We're encourged by your help.

Truth be told, though, it feels like we did something wrong. Donations are down by 44% from last year's final total. Some regular supporters have not appeared, and the total number of members making donations is off as well.

There's still time. We need to raise $690 to make our goal, but even if we can raise another $200, it will greatly encourage us--not to mention pay the bills. If you've been waiting, now is a great time to share a little love with a gesture of tangible support.

Our fundraiser ends tomorrow, Friday, midnight Eastern time. Date your check on December 31, 2007 and you can deduct it from your 2008 taxes.

We need your help. But regardless of how it turns out, WACAN will continue our web-based programming, conference presence and on-the-ground organizing, and of course, another season of the WACANupdate this spring.

HOT ITEM

Request from Peggy McIntosh

Please support the efforts of Aislinn Dewey, a film student at NYU, who has entered a 2 and 1/2 minute animation on white privilege in a film contest at WGBH. The contest is basically a popularity contest among viewers who are invited to comment on it and give it a grade, from 1 to 5. The winning selection may appear on WGBH TV or on their website, but the piece was specifically designed for the small screen -- youtube, ipod, and other mobile devices.
