At Michigan State University, campus police react in force to a student protest during an appearance of Minuteman Chris Simcox, arresting 5 Mexican American students while ignoring white protestors. White anti-racist students speak in solidarity (video), followed by the students of color who were arrested (video), and finally university officials (video). For all the talk about cultural competence in social services, few providers acknowledge whiteness.
