6:45-9pm Program: How racism wounds white people

Oppression of any kind damages the oppressors at the same time it wounds the people targeted.  Quakers such as John Woolman and David Ferris who ministered against slavery had a deep concern, not only for the enslaved, but for the enslaver.  In our own time, we need to understand how the humanity of white people is impacted by racism.  Through study of David Ferris’s letters and Jeff Hitchcock’s writings on“internalized dominance” and through sharing our own stories, we will consider the wounding and roads to healing.
