PEOPLE OF COLOR: This is a multi-faceted category. WACAN does not intend to tell people what race they are. This is by your definition. WACAN welcomes people of color who support, guide and help white people become antiracist.

WACAN members are accountable to one another, and self-assumed definitions should make sense in the community context. WACAN does not support the notion that a person of European-American heritage who was raised in a European-American household, can self-identify as a person of color in any meaningful way. Although WACAN is supportive of expanded notions of multiracial identity, in plain talk, we do not support white people posing as wannabe people of color.
