White supremacy has impacted the entire globe to one degree or another. Some countries, such as South Africa and Australia, have similar experiences to the United States and Canada to the extent they were settled and governed by people of English origin who instituted explicit policies of white supremacy in their governance. Many, many other countries came under colonial rule by European nations, and continue to suffer the effects of that history. Today, with globalization and the creation of a worldwide economy driven in many respects by the United States, the impact of white culture and white supremacy continues to impact the lives of everyone on Earth. WACAN recognizes this broader context in the discussion of anti-racism and white supremacy.
