Why are you guys not covering the racial hate crimes against Blacks and Black Hispanics by Latino immigrants and gang members happening in L.A., Chicago, and now New York as well. Latinos because they have been deeply impacted by Colonial subjugation by the Spanish, see themselves as better than any dark skin people and have along history of discriminating against dark skin Mexican Indians and blacks. Until someone stars dealing with the impacts of Colonial rule on the post Colonials Racism will continue even harder with populations that wish to be whiter at any cost,.

Editor's note: The WACANupdate does not attempt to cover any and all stories pertaining to race. You make a good point that groups currently racialized as “non-white” may aspire to whiteness, and that may drive violence directed toward people racialized as “black.” We will be happy to include any story, article or opinion piece that elaborates on that theme. However, we are less inclined to simply cover brown on black crime, or vice versa, if and when the report does not contextualize it with an understanding of race relations in a white supremacist culture.
