CALL TO SUMMIT

The fifth annual gathering of the White Anti-Racist Summit at the White Privilege Conference will bring together white anti-racist activists, organizers, and educators from across the nation. The previous four years of the Summit have yielded significant and rousing dialogue about the state of racism in the United States and the role and responsibility of white people in the fight for racial justice. This year, the summit is designed to support local and regional efforts in mobilizing white people to take an active stand against racism.

The intention of the White Anti-Racist Summit is to support collaboration between white anti-racist groups, in organizing white people across the US and standing allied with people of color in resisting the white supremacist system and all systems of oppression. The summits serve as a resource for building our capacity to organize and mobilize white people in our local communities.

GOALS

1) Work with regional allies to get concrete and clear in the specific issues that your communities are facing.

2) Explore a shared analysis to view these local/regional issues through a racial justice lens.racial justice lens.

3) Build ongoing regional alliances with concrete next steps to support and strengthen local work with white folks to challenge racism.

4) Develop broader leadership on the Summit Coordinating Committee to include regional representatives committed to near term and long term fostering of regional and national support activities under the White Anti-racist Summit name.*
